COSMOS 2480 launch

A Russian Soyuz-U launched from Plesetsks at 10:05 a.m. EDT on May 17 is carrying Cosmos 2480 to orbit. Cosmos 2480 is thought to be a reconnaissance satellite, though the Cosmos name is the Russian military’s name for defense spacecraft.

The NORAD catalog (or SSC) number for this satellite is 38335 and should be available for use in the STK satellite database shortly. To stay up-to-date with the latest launches subscribe to AGI’s Launch Notifications.
