EchoStar 17 launch

An Ariane 5 rocket launched from Europe’s Spacesport, Kourou, French Guiana on Thursday, July 5 carrying EchoStar 17 and MSG-3 to orbit. EchoStar 17 is operated by Hughes Network Systems and will expand high-speed broadband internet over North America. MSG-3 (Meteosat 10) is a weather satellite for Eumetsat (Europe’s weather satellite agency) and it will collect detailed imagery of Europe, the North Atlantic and Africa.
